The Cultivate Cascades Group is one of the three KCCI (Knight Creative Community Institute) Projects for 2011-2012. Our Group has chosen the task of branding Cascades Park as a Tallahassee landmark by ensuring that visitors are drawn into the park through a variety of diverse activities held throughout the first year
Primary goals are:
- Based on research with key stakeholders and citizens, develop, by February 25, 2012, a comprehensive evaluation showcasing the range of potential activities to occur in the Park during year one, and make recommendations on how to best provide for long-term programming support.
- Coordinate and implement a “Community Planting Day at Centennial Field” in fall 2012 to engage citizens early.
- Elevate and promote the value of Cascades Park to potential corporate sponsors, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, and to the public at large.
- Identify health-related, educational, historic, recreational, and cultural launch activities and events for the Grand Opening of Cascades Park.
The Cultivate Cascades KCCI Work Group is composed of sixteen community leaders representing a wide range of talent and experience. In addition, a small group of volunteers and others support the team.
