What We Do

SPARK TLH

spark-tlh

Years: 2012-2013

Spark TLH connected students and young professionals to the Tallahassee community via creative, spontaneous, atypical community projects and “love notes.”

The Spark TLH project aimed to enhance the experience of students and young professionals in Tallahassee by publishing posts about anything great under the Tallahassee sun. The community blog was active from 2012 to late 2015 and its “love notes” highlighted Tallahassee gems that students and new residents were typically not aware of prior to reading the posts.

Spark TLH collaborated with students at FAMU, FSU, and TCC. One of the key goals of Spark TLH was to create an organic social-service organization, www.Sparktlh.org, that encouraged the interaction of students at three colleges in Tallahassee with the local population. In addition, this site helped retain more students and young professionals in Tallahassee by enhancing their experience in Tallahassee.

Spark TLH contributed to a movement to recognize and bring awareness to Tallahassee’s vibrant places via its active social media campaign and its participation in initiatives such as “For the Love of Tallahassee + Leon County” series.
