TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Continuing the year-long Knight Creative Communities Institute initiative, the Downtown Sense of Place Catalyst team is hosting Bluegrass, Brunch & Brews on August 16, 2014 from noon to 4 p.m. as part of the Capital City Date Night series. The event will be held at Madison Social in College Town, in the green space next to the bar, during their anniversary weekend celebration.

Bluegrass, Brunch & Brews will feature entertainment from local bluegrass band, Belle and the Band, and guests will enjoy an open bar with beer, sangria and mimosas. Tickets are $40 per person and include a $10 voucher to have brunch at Madison Social during the event.

Proceeds from Bluegrass, Brunch & Brews will benefit the Porch Swing Project.  The Porch Swing Project is an on-going effort to install southern-style porch swings downtown and throughout the community that will serve as a unique identifier for Florida’s capital city. The project is part of a larger goal to create a distinct character and identity for Downtown Tallahassee and enhance the community experience. One porch swing is already in use on Adams Street and three others are scheduled to be installed in additional green spaces and common areas throughout Downtown. The porch swings are an ideal symbol to capture Tallahassee’s charm and can be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
