Werner Hyundai, FPRA and The Knight Creative Communities Institute Launch Third Annual Amazing Captial Race
Tallahassee, FL – The Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) and the Knight Creative Communities Institute’s #SeeTallahassee team announced the launch of the third annual Amazing Capital Race, presented by Werner Hyundai. The Amazing Capital Race will take teams of two throughout Tallahassee, completing challenges hosted by local businesses and organizations along the way.
The Amazing Capital Race is a community-driven event created to showcase Tallahassee’s unique attributes, districts and character. The challenges along the route will include a mix of physical, mental and creative tasks, and individuals of all levels are encouraged to participate. At today’s launch, City Manager Rick Fernandez and City Commissioner Scott Maddox, who will race on the 17th, issued a challenge to their County counterparts, County Administrator Vince Long and County Commission Nick Maddox. City Commissioner Nancy Miller also attended and plans to participate in September’s race, as will members of FPRA and KCCI’s SeeTallahassee catalyst class.
Werner Hyundai has joined the event as the title sponsor and will host a series of challenges at the dealership leading up to race day on September 17. This week’s challenge includes grabbing a cup of complimentary coffee at the dealership and completing a series of tasks on social media. Werner Hyundai is the premier Hyundai dealership in North Florida and South Georgia. For more information about the dealership, please visit http://www.wernerhyundai.com/.
Supporting the Amazing Capital Race and encouraging everyone to get out and #SeeTallahassee is one element of KCCI’s SeeTallahassee community catalyst project, which kicked off in 2015. KCCI’s 14-member all-volunteer team adopted the goal of supporting Leon County’s new wayfinding signage system, intended to direct citizens and visitors to key central locations and area placemaking districts.
In addition the race, the SeeTallahassee campaign also includes an artistic map, which can be downloaded at SeeTallahassee.com, murals in several distinct areas of town and an upcoming interactive website.
