Gilchrist Elementary School creates Art of the Box
Art of the Box Expands
City leaders, Market District Association Board Members, and KCCI 2021 Community Catalysts were excited to unveil the latest installment of Art of the Box, an ongoing community wide initiative to transform utilitarian boxes into public art, celebrating a traffic control box near the Gilchrist Elementary School campus that now features artwork by Gilchrist’s art teacher.
Victoria Mendenhall is a local Tallahassee artist and an art teacher at Gilchrist Elementary. When she is not making messes and masterpieces with her students, she is painting florals or making homewares on her pottery wheel. She always does her best to inspire her little grizzlies through the magical world of art! This box was sponsored by Gilchrist Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.
