New Instagram Series Exploring Tactical Urbanism

Tactical urbanism happens at a small scale, does not require construction crews or master plans, and is sometimes temporary. Throughout this series, KCCI is featuring tactical urbanism success stories. From adding benches, art, or gardens to a local patch of grass where people gather to enhancing a streetscape, tactical urbanism is an empowering way for individuals to change their environment with resources on hand.

Anyone can be a practical practitioner of tactical urbanism, all it takes is a vision and a desire for change. The Knight Foundation published a tactical urbanism resource guide, which can be downloaded here

For questions about the series or to discuss any projects that you would like considered for being featured on the series, please contact KCCI’s Planning & Marketing Intern Alex Valdes at [email protected].
