Hop for Hope

As part of Placemaking Week KCCI was the catalyst to bring together multiple organizations for Hop For Hope benefiting Hope Community. The Junior League of Tallahassee, Faith Presbyterian Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Florida State University, and many community volunteers worked together to beautify the home of HOPE Community residents.

This was done by:

…brightening picnic tables

…adding color and educational designs throughout the sidewalks

…turning the gazebo from a drab to fab

FSU students led games and speech therapy lessons  for the children at Hope

Volunteers improved morale and built connections between HOPE Community residents and the Tallahassee community through these simple placemaking tools. Everyone had a great time brightening up the space while teaching the kids how to have fun with sidewalk art.

Thank you again to The Junior League of Tallahassee, Faith Presbyterian, Leon SGA and Mayor John Dailey. Volunteers even finished 3 hours earlier than expected because of all the volunteers that attended!
