Leon County Commission Voted Unanimously to Approve Pedestrian Safety Measures on Dempsey Mayo Road
The Leon County Commission voted unanimously to move forward with added pedestrian safety measures on Dempsey Mayo road at their meeting Tuesday.
Thanks to a grant KCCI received from AARP and the work of the 2023 KCCI Community Catalyst team, artistic crosswalks will be installed on the elevated crosswalks on Dempsey Mayo Road near W.T. Moore Elementary and Westminster Oaks. These measures will reduce speeds of cars and improve safety and livability in the area.
KCCI’s Crosswalks to Classrooms team has implemented a variety of artistic crosswalks throughout the community.
