VyStar Credit Union and KCCI Celebrate Placemaking Week with Good Is Everywhere Mural Painting

VyStar Credit Union and the Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI) celebrate the 5th Annual Placemaking Week with the Good is everywhere community mural painting event at Sabal Palm Elementary, A Community Partnership School. Click here to see how employees of VyStar came together to participate in this mural. With assistance from professional muralists Sarah Painter and Cosby Hayes, students, and employees will be painting the mural located by the school on-and-off loading area on Tuesday, Sept. 19, and Wednesday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The mural beautifies and welcomes while filling students with school pride.

Everyone celebrated with a ribbon cutting for the official unveiling of the mural on Friday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. As one little girl Sarah said: “my cheeks hurt from smiling this much.” For this year’s Placemaking Week, KCCI has partnered with VyStar, the City of Tallahassee and others to bring free community-enhancement and art projects into the community. These initiatives align with the credit union’s purpose to Do Good across the communities it serves.

VyStar Credit Union is the second-largest credit union headquartered in Florida and now serves more than 900,000 members with assets of over $13.5 billion. VyStar is the largest mortgage lender in Northeast Florida and a major employer in the region with over 2,000 employees across the communities it serves. VyStar membership is open to everyone who lives or works in the 49 contiguous counties of Central to North Florida, 29 Georgia counties, and past and present military members and their families all over the world.
