Art on Fire 1st four

First Few Art on Fire Hydrants are Painted

During KCCI’s 5th Annual Placemaking week in September, artists are painting the fire hydrants adding to Tallahassee/Leon County’s placemaking and outdoor, public art experience.

Congratulations to these local artists selected to paint their artwork on fire hydrants as part of the pilot project:

  • Sherlyn Reyes
  • Sharard “X” Saddlers
  • Robyn Ware
  • Franzline Whaley
  • Direne Esparza Lorenzo & Sinai Muniz Esparza (painting the weekend of 9/23)

On Saturday, Sept. 16, four of the artists painted fire hydrants in Railroad Square art park.

Check out the painted fire hydrants in Railroad Square featuring their artwork. They are even more stunning when you have a 360 degree view.

Art on Fire was envisioned by the Team 4 of the City of Tallahassee’s New Public Servant Initiative Program (NPSI) and KCCI implemented the project. Funding was provided by the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) of Tallahassee. Thank you to the City of Tallahassee Fire Department for allowing the artists to paint on the fire hydrants.
