Good Things Grow Here Mural Unveiling

Good Things Grow Here: More Color and Creativity Coming Near Cascades Park

Tallahassee, FL (September 27, 2025) – KCCI, First Commerce Credit Union and community supporters unveil a vibrant new artistic mural, “Good Things Grow Here,” in Cascades Park next to Argonaut Coffee.

The mural is painted by local artist and Leon High School art teacher Andy Steinbrink and made possible by sponsor First Commerce Credit Union, KCCI’s 2025 Community Catalyst Class, Hartsfield Construction, DAG Architects and Eppes Decorating Center.

Bold colors and inspiring designs in the mural capture the heart of our community and create a sense of welcome for park visitors. The mural was designed and conceptualized by Grace Shepherd of DAG Architects and Andy Steinbrink, with input from the 2025 KCCI Catalyst team and former Catalysts Alana Taylor and Stephanie Hartsfield. The mural now welcomes guests in Cascades Park as they transition from the public parking garage to the park.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 – 11 a.m. EST. Remarks will occur at 10:15 a.m.

WHERE: Argonaut Coffee in Cascades Park, 850 S Gadsden St Suite 160, Tallahassee, FL 32301

*Parking is available in the public parking garage right by the mural location outside of Argonaut Coffee.

WHAT: Join KCCI and partners for the mural celebration and activities including:

  • Stop by, snap a pic and celebrate all the good things growing right here in Tallahassee
  • Sidewalk chalk fun – add your own creative touch near the mural.
  • Signature sips from next-door neighbor Argonaut Coffee – try the Lavender Matcha Lemonade, or a Lavender Lemonade. Both are naturally colored with butterfly pea powder to match the mural’s floral palette.
  • Learn about KCCI and why place matters at 10:15 a.m. from speakers including Betsy Couch, KCCI Executive Director.

The mural unveiling is the finale event of KCCI’s 7th annual Placemaking Week – an engaging two weeks of hands-on community building, networking and discovery of hidden gems in Tallahassee. KCCI, community partners, and sponsors held events this year including a community bike ride, downtown See & Stroll Art Tour, and September Showcase revealing the 2026 KCCI project.

Applications are open until Nov. 6 to become a 2026 KCCI Community Catalyst. This will mark KCCI’s 19th year of strengthening Tallahassee’s identity through placemaking projects that help drive economic vitality and bring community members together. Visit kccitallahassee.com to learn more about KCCI.
