Leon Kung is the Director of Operations for The Village Square, a nonprofit focused on growing civil discourse on divisive issues. The Village Square believes in the power of dialogue and disagreement, and it spearheads a variety of programming centered around civility and community-building, especially among political opposites.Leon is a Tallahassee native and a graduate of the University of Florida. He utilized his electrical engineering degree for a long 6 months post-graduation before pivoting into a career in information systems. After working at an internet start-up that experienced an increase in revenue during his tenure from $20 million to over $1.4 billion annually, Leon focused on providing consulting services for enterprise-level information systems to global clients, including the United States Navy, AXA Equitable, Capital One, and Freddie Mac. Leon moved back to Tallahassee after a 22-years absence and most recently served as Chair of the Board of Directors for The School of Arts and Sciences prior to joining The Village Square.
