KCCI Debuts New Project at Annual Showcase
Monday night over 100 members of the community gathered for the KCCI Annual Showcase. The Junction was filled with friendly faces, live music and delicious local cuisine. The event was incredibly successful and not one to be missed. To accommodate those who could not attend, the big announcement was broadcast live via Facebook for the first time ever.
Executive Director Betsy Couch debuted KCCI’s newest placemaking project, which will bring #IHeartTally to life. Next year’s community catalyst team will be tasked with designing, implementing and promoting a life-size, 3-D representation of the hashtag. The letters will travel to different locations throughout the year, for residents and tourists alike to sit on, climb on and take selfies with. Applications to become a community catalyst for this project are now live and can be found here.
Chris Skene and McCall Chapin showcased their musical talents, the Social Catering whipped up amazing cuisine utilizing local ingredients, and the Junction on Monroe provided not only a venue, but a friendly atmosphere. This outstanding event couldn’t have been possible without them, as well as all of the wonderful attendees.
