Musical Park Coming Soon

It won’t be long now!

The Red Hills Rhythm Project at Coal Chute Pond is a few short months away from being installed. Blueprint has partnered with KCCI’s Red Hills Rhythm Catalyst team to bring musical-play features to this new community space. This installation of whimsical and beautiful instruments is but one of the amenities being added by Blueprint on Segment 3 of Capital Cascades Trail which runs along FAMU Way. Coal Chute Pond, located along the Trail near the west end of the Railroad Square Art District, will also feature a multi-use trail around the perimeter, lighting, seating, landscaping, and a drinking fountain! Additionally, there will be an informal performance space and an entrance to Railroad Square Art District.

The array of amenities coming to Coal Chute Pond were refined through a vigorous community engagement effort with FAMU, FSU, surrounding neighborhoods and businesses, and 300 citizens who submitted their amenities preferences.

Coal Chute Pond provides stormwater retention and treatment for the area. As with all Blueprint projects, infrastructure amenities are treated holistically and developed into a true community asset, which are made even better through partnerships like the one with KCCI. Construction for Coal Chute Pond began in spring 2021 and completion is anticipated this fall!

Thank you to the Enclaves for collaborating with Blueprint and KCCI to serve as the presenting sponsor of this future musical park. For more information about the Enclaves, click here.
