Years: 2023
Placemaking Week 2023 was a week of free community-building events with hundreds of volunteers.
2023 Events Included:
Art on Fire
Saturday, Sept. 16 & 23
Location | Railroad Square Art park
On Saturday, Sept. 16 four local artists transformed fire hydrants into works of art as part of the Art on Fire pilot project. Thanks to the involvement of local artists, KCCI, CRA, City of Tallahassee Fire Department, and volunteers the first few Art on Fire hydrants were painted Saturday, Sept. 16.
Four of the fire hydrants were painted on Saturday, Sept. 16 and one more was painted Sept. 23 in front of Pineview Elementary School.
Artwork pictured beginning top left: Artwork by artist Robyn Ware; artwork by Franzline Whaley; artwork by Sharard X Saddlers; artwork by Sherlyn Reyes; artwork by Direne Esparza Lorenzo and daughter Sinai. Check out the painted fire hydrants in Railroad Square and in front of Pineview Elementary School featuring their artwork. Trust us – they are even more stunning when you have a 360-degree view.
